FASTag KYC Update: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) may extend the deadline for implementing its 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' initiative. A senior official said that in view of the problems faced by Paytm Fastag users, it is proposed to extend its deadline till the end of March.

NHAI had earlier talked about implementing the 'One Vehicle, One Fastag' initiative from March 1.

"In view of the Paytm crisis, Fastag users may be given more time to adopt the 'one vehicle-one Fastag' standard," the official said on condition of anonymity.

NHAI, the body that manages highways, had earlier extended the deadline to implement the One Vehicle – One FASTag initiative and update KYC for its FASTag (FASTag KYC Update Deadline) till February 29, 2024.

To increase the efficiency of the electronic toll collection system and enable seamless movement of vehicles at toll plazas, NHAI has implemented 'One Vehicle, One Fastag' initiative. Its objective is to discourage the use of the same Fastag for multiple vehicles or linking of multiple Fastags to a particular vehicle.
