The air quality in the country's capital Delhi has reached critical levels before Diwali.

The whole of Delhi has been transformed into a gas chamber. It is becoming difficult for people to breathe due to poisonous air.

The air quality in Delhi remains 'severe' for the third consecutive day this week. There are many areas of the capital where AQI has crossed 500, which is considered 'severe'. However, in view of the pollution situation, the Delhi government has taken several steps.

Drone camera footage from Delhi's Signature Bridge showed a thick layer of haze in the air. This was shot at 7:45 am today. At the same time, a layer of haze was visible in the air in the latest from ITO area. According to CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board), the air quality in Delhi remains in the 'severe' category.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), air quality across Delhi remains in the 'severe' category. AQI was recorded at 448 in Anand Vihar area, 421 in Jahangirpuri, 435 in Dwarka Sector-8 and 421 around IGI Airport (T3). According to CPCB, AQI in Noida Sector-116 is 426 and in Noida Sector 62 is 428. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), it is in the 'severe' category.

Recently the Delhi high court had also expressed serious concern over rising pollution levels in the national capital. The court had also instructed the concerned officials to take measures to reduce the pollution.

Experts said that if this situation continued then the pollution level would further worsen during the Diwali festival after bursting of crackers.
