"Earnings 119 times more than last salary": IAS now under the grip of investigating agencies, connection with Paytm too

In a corruption case, the investigation agencies have tightened their grip on Ramesh Abhishek, an IAS officer of Bihar cadre (Bihar IAS Corruption Case). The FIR lodged by the CBI states, "While holding the post of Secretary DPIIT or Chairman, Forward Markets Commission, he collected huge sums of money as consultancy and professional fees from various institutions and organizations with whom he had dealings." According to the ED, Abhishek filed an affidavit before the Lokpal, in which he stated that in the 15 months after retirement, he received a fee of Rs 2.7 crore, which is "119 times more than his last government salary of Rs 2.26 lakh".

A senior CBI official said, "Investigation so far by various agencies has revealed that Abhishek benefited about 16 companies while holding the post of Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
