In a corruption case, the investigation agencies have tightened their grip on Ramesh Abhishek, an IAS officer of Bihar cadre (Bihar IAS Corruption Case). The CBI searched his premises after registering an FIR against him on Tuesday. Ramesh Abhishek has been accused of taking crores of rupees as consultancy fees from more than a dozen private companies after retirement, in a case which he had settled while in service. The investigating agency has also registered a case against his daughter Vanessa. CBI, ED and Lokpal are investigating the allegations against him.

According to officials, Abhishek, a 1982 batch Bihar cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), retired from DIPPT in 2019, after which he served in a private company. That DIPPT. According to the ED, Abhishek filed an affidavit before the Lokpal, in which he stated that in the 15 months after retirement, he received a fee of Rs 2.7 crore, which is "119 times more than his last government salary of Rs 2.26 lakh".

A senior CBI official said, "Investigation so far by various agencies has revealed that Abhishek benefited about 16 companies while holding the post of Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. ''It has been said in the FIR that with this amount he first bought a house in the posh Greater Kailash area of Delhi, which deepened the suspicion on him.
