New Delhi: Heavy smog engulfed the national capital on Tuesday morning with the visibility level reduced upto 50 metres. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) declared medical health emergency in Delhi.

IMA has urged schools to shut until the situation becomes normal to keep children at bay from the hazardous air pollution level.

According to the real-time Air Quality Index (AQI), the air quality was hazardous in most areas in Delhi.

People were facing problems in commuting in the morning hours due to extremely poor visibility.

The level of visibility dropped at 50 metres and the minimum temperature settling at 16.1 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 30 degrees Celsius.

The condition, however, was very similar on Monday morning with the visibility level settling at 500 metres.

Delhiites will have to resort to wearing pollution masks with the increasing level of smog.
