Declare the date of Ram Mandir construction: VHP to BJP

Meerut: Asking Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to declare the date of beginning of Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Thursday stated that now no excuses will work as BJP is at the helm at the Centre and Uttar Pradesh, both.

VHP office-bearers, at a press conference here, said, "BJP is holding power at the Centre as well as Uttar Pradesh. Now, none of its excuses will work for delay in construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. We want the party to announce the date of beginning of the construction of the temple as soon as possible."

What the VHP members said?

  • BJP had promised to construct the Ram Mandir if they come to power in the state.
  • VHP is organising a program in Shastri Nagar on March 26 to remind BJP of its promise.
  • VHP international general secretary will be the chief guest at the function.
  • BJP cannot keep testing the patience of Hindus.
  • Babar destroyed the birth place Lord Ram hundreds of years back, and since then lakhs of Hindus have sacrificed their lives to get the land back.
  • Lord Ram is the soul of India and hence, it is foolish to challenge his existence.

What the Vishwa Hindu Parishad members have demanded?

  • Ram Mandir should be made with the ancient rocks.
  • No mosques should be made across Ayodhya.
  • None of the mosques should be named after Mughal emperor Babar.
