Dandi March: PM Modi to inaugurate 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'

New Delhi: On this day, March 12, 1930 Mahatma Gandhi started a yatra from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad for Dandi along with 78 Satyagrahis. Gandhiji took out the Dandi March to protest against the salt law of the Britishers.

Dandi March:

Gandhiji broke the British law by making salt on 6 April 1930. After this, all were arrested. On this special occasion, Amit Shah bowed down to the satyagrahis. He tweeted, "On this day in 1930, Gandhiji started the historic Dandi Salt Satyagraha from Sabarmati Ashram in protest against the British cruel salt law which shook the foundation of the British Empire and gave a new direction to the Indian freedom struggle. Salute to all the Satyagrahis of Dandi March.

PM Modi to inaugurate Amrut Festival:

At the same time, on the completion of 75 years of independence. The central government has announced to celebrate the Azadi Amrit Mahotsav. In this, the journey will give information to the younger generation about the Freedom Struggle between 1857 and 1947. Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) will start this by flagging off Dandi March on 12 March.

The Amrut Mahotsav of independence will celebrate the dream of freedom struggle, development of the country and the world teacher of India. PM Modi gave information about this by tweeting.

Many big leaders of BJP including PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will also join the Dandi March. In March, 81 pedestrians will be involved. These pedestrians will travel 386 km to reach Dandi on 5 April.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that during the Dandi March there will be many events in the freedom struggle and Gandhi ji related sites like Porbandar, Rajkot, Vadodara, Dandi, Mandvi and Bardoli. On 12 March, programs related to the nation's love and public awareness organized at 75 places.
