Mumbai: Intensifying the 'Tata-Mistry face off', Cyrus Mistry has sent a legal notice to the Tata Global Beverages for removing the former as the Chairman of the company. The notice has been sent to the Secretary of the Tata Beverages V Madan stating that Mistry's removal was illegal and inaccurate.

It may be recalled that Cyrus Mistry was sacked from his post as the Chairman of the company which co-owns and runs Starbucks coffee stores across India. Non-executive director Harish Bhat has replaced Mistry, the company said in regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Sacking Mistry as head of the $103-billion business empire has escalated a boardroom battle has erupted when he was removed from Tata Sons following differences with the owners.
