New Delhi: The havoc of Cyclone Michaung is evident in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, particularly with torrential rainfall hitting several cities in Tamil Nadu. There is a possibility of the cyclone making landfall along the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh today. During this period, winds with a speed of 90 to 110 kilometers per hour are expected. Five states have already been put on high alert due to the potential impact of the cyclone. Heavy rainfall is occurring at various places in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Chennai has witnessed a devastating impact of heavy rainfall, with vehicles flowing like boats on the roads. Several flights have been canceled in Chennai due to waterlogging on the runway of the airport. Many flights have been diverted from Chennai to Bengaluru. Due to the intense rainfall, several trains have also been canceled, and schools have declared holidays. The heavy rain has claimed the lives of five people in Tamil Nadu. The central government has assured all possible assistance to the affected states.
