COVID-19 (Social Media)

The country is battling the second wave of Coronavirus at the moment and some have offered a helping hand to patients and frontline workers in need of aid. Due to the intense situation in the country, the health care sector has been overburdened with lakhs of people awaiting adequate medical facilities. Some people are partook in humanitarian work.

Some are just criticizing the pandemic and saying that it has destroyed our lifestyle. But what's the reason behind this pandemic, why is it showing real colours of life? Rajiv Malhotra, a well known researcher opens up on this Covid crises at micro-blogging site. He has discussed how his mother went through and also shares her views on pandemic. Read on!

Talking about his mother, she was a doctor who considered medicine as a religion and served humanity for years. 95-year-old female doctor died due to coronavirus while wandering in Delhi's hospitals. She did not get timely treatment. Even at the last moment, hearing what she said to his son living abroad, you will also be forced to salute her.

Yes, this pandemic is snatching a generation from India who considered humanity and service to be the ultimate religion in their lives.

"The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity." – Leo Tolstoy

Rajiv Malhotra opens up on his mother's death:

I lost my mother age 95 to covid recently. She breathed her last on back seat of car driving her middle of night to 5 hospitals refusing ICU bed. Her final message to me:

1) look after her attendants & villages;

2) her life/death caused by natural law;

3) grieve for Mother India

My mother on Covid: Virus must function as per its dharma (i.e., laws of biology), we can't question the Cosmos. What we need to do is perform our sva-dharma.

Rajiv Malhotra share views of his mother:

Being a brilliant medical doctor in service of others without any fee, her view of covid pandemic:

-Do one's best karma for others as per one's capabilities.

-Let the Cosmos decide the outcomes as per its logic.

-Replace emotions with hard work.

-Best compassion is action.

Both my parents were in the midst of freedom struggle in Punjab & barely survived Partition. Exemplified big picture thinking selflessly & fearlessly.

Mother told me regularly during pandemic: this is as per the logic of the Cosmos, best approach is to perform our karma.

Remarkably brave & clear till the end. She was gold medalist in pre-partition India as medical doctor, one of the first women doctors. Never worked for money, but volunteered her service. Supported women's causes all her life. Taught by example: to be net giver, not taker.

I decided to downplay announcing this & focus on raising help to send oxy concentrators to India; remain calm & process the macro picture as per her message - that cosmos is speaking back at humanity & we need to introspection our collective karma.

Rajiv Malhotra:

Rajiv Malhotra is an Indian-American Hindu activist, author and founder of Infinity Foundation, which focuses on Indic studies, and also funds projects such as Columbia University's project to translate the Tibetan Buddhist Tengyur. His writings have led to verbal and physical attacks on western scholars and their institutions.

Apart from the foundation, Malhotra promotes a Hindutva view on Indic cultures, mainly Hinduism. Malhotra has written prolifically in opposition to the western academic study of Indian culture and society, which he maintains denigrates the tradition and undermines the interests of India "by encouraging the paradigms that oppose its unity and integrity".

Corona in India:

The pace of Corona in the country has become completely uncontrollable. For the second consecutive day, the number of Corona Infected Patients has crossed the 4 lakh mark, while so far in the country, there have been three times when the number of corona infected patients has exceeded 4 lakh.
