Coronavirus: Single day rise of 41,195 COVID-19 infections in India

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that in the last 24 hours, 41,195 new cases were registered in the country while 490 people died.

New Delhi: There has been an increase in the cases of coronavirus infection in the country once again. While 38,353 new cases were reported in the country on Wednesday, on Thursday its number increased by more than three thousand. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Mohfw) said that in the last 24 hours, 41,195 new cases were registered in the country while 490 people died.

Coronavirus latest update:

With this, 39,069 people recovered from corona. The ministry said that there are currently 3,87,987 active cases in the country, 3,12,60, 050 people have been discharged and 4,29,669 people have died.

According to the ministry, an increase of 1636 new active cases registered. The total number of samples tested up to 11th August is 48,73,70,196 including 21,24,953 samples tested yesterday says Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

India reports 41,195 new cases in the last 24 hours. The active caseload in the country is currently at 3,87,987 while the recovery rate is at 97.45%: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Vaccination in India:

According to the data given by PIB, COVID-19 Vaccination Update Day-208, COVID19 Vaccination Coverage crosses 52 Cr landmark milestone. More than 40 lakh Vaccine Doses administered today till 7pm. More than 19.79 Cr Vaccine doses administered in the age group 18-44.

The countrywide vaccination drive was launched on 16 January, under which health workers (HCWs) were vaccinated and frontline personnel (FLWs) were vaccinated from February 2.

COVID-19 in Kerala:

On the other hand, 23,500 new cases of covid-19 were reported in Kerala on Wednesday, taking the total cases of infection in the state to 36,10,193. While the death toll from the coronavirus increased to 18,120 with 116 more deaths. A state government release said that since Tuesday, 19,411 people have been cured of the infection, taking the total number of recoveries to 34,15,595 and the number of patients under treatment in the state is now 1,75,957.
