New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday discussed with the Chief Ministers of six states the latest situation of covid 19 (Coronavirus In India) in their states. During this, the PM said that in the beginning, experts were assuming that from where the second wave started, the situation would be under control first.

But cases are increasing in Maharashtra and Kerala. This is indeed a matter of serious concern for all of us, for the country.

The Prime Minister said that it is very important that the states where cases are increasing, they have to take proactive measures to prevent any possibility of a third wave.

The PM said that experts say that due to increasing cases continuously for a long time, the possibility of mutation in the corona virus increases, the risk of new variants increases. Therefore, it is necessary to take effective steps against Corona to prevent the third wave.

He said that we have to move forward only by focusing our strategy of Test, Track, Treat and Vaccine.

We have to pay special attention to Micro Containment Zones.

The districts where the positivity rate is high, from where more cases are coming, should be equally focused.

The PM said that funds are being made available to all the states of the country for making new ICU beds, increasing the testing capacity and for all other needs.

Recently, the central government has also released an emergency covid response package of more than 23 thousand crores.
