Coronavirus: 11,271 new cases of Covid-19 infection and 285 deaths in the country

New Delhi: There have been 11,271 new cases of covid-19 infection in the country and 285 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. According to the data of the Union Health Ministry, during this period 11,376 people were also cured of the infection.

After the arrival of new cases, the total number of cases of infection in the country has increased to 3,44,37,307. At the same time, the number of active cases (patients undergoing treatment) has come down to 1,35,918, which is 0.39 percent of the total cases. At the same time, the number of people recovering from infection in the country is more than 3.38 crore.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the rate of those recovering from infection in the country is currently 98.26 percent. At the same time, 4,63,530 people have died due to covid-19 in India, which is 1.35 percent of the total cases of infection. According to the Ministry of Health, more than 70 percent of the people who have died due to corona virus infection so far, had other diseases as well.

The positivity rate in the newly registered cases was 0.90 percent, which is less than 2 percent for the last 41 days. At the same time, the weekly positivity rate is at 1.01 percent. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 12,55,904 samples were tested for the detection of corona virus infection across the country on Saturday. Since the beginning of the covid pandemic in the country, more than 62.37 crore samples have been tested so far.

So far 112.01 crore vaccine doses have been administered

Under the ongoing vaccination against covid-19, 112.01 crore doses have been administered in the country so far. According to the Ministry of Health, 57.43 lakh doses were administered across the country on Saturday.

So far in India 75.03 crore people have been given the first dose and 36.97 crore people have been given both doses. The ministry had told on Saturday that more than 123 crore doses of covid vaccine have been made available by the central government to various states and union territories of the country so far. Of these, more than 18 crore doses are yet to be administered.
