New Delhi: The second wave of Corona in the country has created a furore. Every day new cases of corona infection are breaking records. In this battle of Corona, Vaccine is being considered as a big weapon.

Corona vaccine is most expensive in India:

The government has also appealed people to get vaccinated above the age of 18 years, but there is still uproar over the price of vaccine. Let us know that the price of vaccine given to private sector for Rs 250 has increased by six times.

In India, the Serum Institute of India (SII) has priced Covishield Vaccine from 700 to 900 rupees while the price of Covaxin manufactured by Bharat Biotech has gone from 1250 to 1500.

According to the CoWIN website, it has been revealed that only four big corporate hospitals of private sector wholesale vaccination have come up, including Apollo, Max, Fortis and Manipal.

No uniformity in vaccine prices:

In most countries of the world, there is no uniformity in the price of Corona Vaccine, India is also one of those countries. Explain that despite the increasing cases of corona, a large part of the country does not want to pay out of its own pocket for Covid vaccination. The biggest reason for this is the increasing price of vaccine in private sector in India. One has to pay around $ 12 to get a shot of Covishield in India and $ 17 for Covaxin.

When the vaccine was introduced in India, the Center was paying only Rs 150 for two doses and was supplying to state governments and private hospitals. Not only this, it was allowed to take 100 rupees per dose for vaccination in private hospital. Private hospitals had also agreed to this. However, many hospitals are effectively charging covishield Rs 250-300 per dose as vaccination fee.
