New Delhi: After less than 20 thousand new cases of covid-19 in India, infection cases in the country increased to 1,03,40,469, of which more than 99.46 lakh people have become infection free. At the same time, the rate of infected samples has also fallen to 5.89 percent.

16,504 new cases of covid-19:

According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, 16,504 new cases of covid-19 were detected in one day in the country. Earlier, on December 29, 16,432 new cases were reported after about 187 days. At the same time, after the death of 214 more people, the death toll increased to 1,49,649.

According to the data, with a total of 99,46,867 people becoming infection free, the recovery rate of patients in the country increased to 96.19 percent. The death rate from Covid-19 is 1.45 percent. The number of cases under Covid-19 under 14 days in the country is less than three lakh. At present 2,43,953 people are undergoing treatment for corona virus infection, which is 2.36 percent of the total cases.

Corona Updates in India

In India, the number of infected had crossed 20 lakh on 7 August, 30 lakh on 23 August and 40 lakh on 5 September. At the same time, the total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October and 90 lakh on 20 November and one crore on 19 December.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Sciences (ICMR), as of January 3, a total of 17,56,35,761 samples were tested for Covid-19, of which 7,35,978 samples were tested on Sunday. The ministry said, 'One crore samples have been tested in the last 11 days. With more investigations, the rate of infection of samples has fallen to 5.89 percent.
