Thursday morning also came with bone-chilling cold for the people of Delhi, during which the minimum temperature was recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius. This is four degrees less than the average temperature of the season. 'Cold Day' situation continues in the national capital for the seventh consecutive day. There was moderate fog in Delhi at 5.30 in the morning while dense fog was seen in some parts of it. Due to this, its impact on traffic is visible.

Visibility at Safdarjung Observatory and Palam, the main meteorological centers of the national capital, was recorded at 200 meters at 5.30 am. Due to fog, about 18 trains coming to Delhi are running late by maximum six hours. Many flights are getting delayed from Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi.

An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, "It is often a challenge to differentiate between low lying clouds and fog in satellite images." The relative humidity in Delhi was recorded at 91 percent at 9.05 am. done.

Apart from Delhi, the effect of cold was seen in many states of North India. Cold wave continues in Patna, Bihar, whereas cold wave continues in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The meteorologist said in his report that the effect of cold will continue for several more days.

The Meteorological Department has issued red alert for Punjab and Haryana. Orange alert is issued for cold wave and fog in Delhi and UP. The morning minimum temperature in Delhi is below 5 degrees. Due to cold and fog, rail and air services in the capital have also been affected.
