Cold Wave Grips North India: Rainfall and Temperature Drop Hit Several States

New Delhi:* The weather continues to exhibit changes in various parts of the country. After the rainfall in Delhi and surrounding areas, a noticeable increase in cold temperatures has been recorded. Several regions in Uttar Pradesh also experienced a rise in cold after Monday night's rainfall. Some areas in the state still show signs of rain today. The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, among other regions. The weather department has also warned of rain in Delhi and Uttarakhand.

**Chilled Delhi After Rain**

The weather in Delhi and the NCR regions has completely transformed. Due to yesterday's rain, there has been a drop in temperatures. On Monday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature was 24 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists predict a 2 to 3-degree Celsius decrease in minimum temperatures in Delhi at the beginning of December. Additionally, a light to moderate fog is expected to persist.

**Weather Shift in UP**

Uttar Pradesh is also witnessing a rapid change in weather conditions. People are feeling the cold during the day, and there has been a drop in night temperatures. In Aligarh, it rained intermittently throughout Monday night. Due to the rain, orders have been issued to keep schools in the district closed today. Light rain is also reported in areas like Agra, Jhansi, and Varanasi.

The weather department suggests a possibility of rain in six districts of Kanpur Mandal today. Varanasi is expected to experience light rain on November 30. Ayodhya and Kanpur are currently the coldest places in the state, with both areas recording a minimum temperature of 12 degrees Celsius. Experts predict a change in weather and the persistence of fog in the state for the next two days.

**Rain Alerts in Other States**

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for light to moderate rain with thunder in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh states until November 29. During the next two days, a 2 to 3-degree Celsius drop in temperatures is expected in North and Central India. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been alerted for heavy rainfall until November 30, along with the likelihood of strong winds causing inconvenience.

**SkyMet Weather Forecast**

According to SkyMet Weather, over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu, and coastal Andhra Pradesh, along with the possibility of heavy rain in one or two places. There is also a chance of light rain in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, and Andhra Pradesh.

**Rains Wreak Havoc in Gujarat**

Unseasonal rains in several areas of Gujarat have significantly impacted daily life. Reports of 27 casualties in incidents of lightning during the rains have surfaced, causing substantial damage to crops. Deaths related to lightning occurred within a 24-hour period, starting from Sunday morning.

The highest number of deaths occurred in Dahod, Tapi, Dang, Amreli, Surendranagar, Botad, Mehsana, Kheda, Panchmahal, Sabarkantha, Ahmedabad, Bharuch, and Devbhoomi Dwarka districts. Efforts are being made by the administration to provide relief to the affected people.
