New Delhi: In the coming days, people in several states across the country are expected to face increasing difficulties due to the biting cold. The Meteorological Department has predicted the onset of severe cold days in Punjab, Haryana, Western Rajasthan, and Western Madhya Pradesh. Similar challenging conditions are anticipated in Eastern Rajasthan and Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, a new spell of rain is warned in Northern and Central India from January 8th.

In the hilly states, snowfall and rain will further intensify the cold.

Rainfall to Persist in Uttar Pradesh

The ongoing rain amid the cold in various parts of Uttar Pradesh is causing significant inconvenience to the residents. The weather department suggests that this rainy spell may continue until January 15th. Alerts for heavy rainfall have been issued in some districts from January 9th to 11th.

The activity of the Western Disturbance is expected to increase from January 8th, affecting various regions. Saturday is forecasted to witness rainfall in seven districts of the state. Rainfall was also reported in several districts, including the capital Lucknow, Varanasi, and Kanpur, on Friday.

Dense Fog to Worsen the Situation

A yellow alert for dense fog has been issued in all 66 districts of the state. Fortunately, there was no Cold Day situation reported in any district on Friday. The presence of clouds has led to an increase in temperatures. Meteorologists state that Uttar Pradesh will continue to experience a situation of shivering cold and fog. Muzaffarnagar recorded the lowest temperature on Thursday night at 4.7 degrees Celsius.

Cold Day Conditions in Delhi

The weather department predicts that the national capital, Delhi, will continue to experience Cold Day conditions today. In the coming days, the weather in the capital is expected to deteriorate, and rain is likely to exacerbate the troubles for the residents. After that, a further drop in temperatures is anticipated. The maximum temperature in Delhi today is likely to be around 15 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 9 degrees Celsius. Due to the approaching Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in the capital on January 9th and 10th.

Rain Warning in Many States

According to the SkyMet Weather report, light to moderate rainfall is expected in internal Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Lakshadweep, with a chance of heavy rainfall in one or two places. Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Eastern Madhya Pradesh may experience dense fog in different areas. There is a possibility of light rain in some places in Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Rayalaseema. Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Western Rajasthan, and Western Madhya Pradesh may witness Cold Day and Severe Cold Day conditions at several locations, while dense fog could cover parts of Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jammu, and Western Madhya Pradesh could also face dense fog causing difficulties for the residents.
