In a tragic incident, a child fell into the water treatment plant of Delhi Jal Board in Keshopur Mandi area of Delhi on Sunday morning. It is being said that the depth of this pipe is about 40 to 50 feet. Rescue operation has been started to take the child out of the pipe. For this, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team and fire fighters are present on the spot.

At the time of filing this report, teams from Delhi Fire Service (DFS), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and Delhi Police were leading the rescue operation.

According to rescue workers, after receiving information about the incident, five fire engines have been sent to the spot. The NDRF rescue team on the spot is being led by Inspector-in-charge Veer Pratap Singh.

"We will soon launch a rescue operation by digging a borewell parallel to the spot where the child fell. However, it could be a long-running operation," Singh said. Earlier also several such incidents have taken place in different parts of the country. Often the civic authorities have been blamed for such tragedies. In some incidents, the children have also died after being trapped inside the borewells or pipes.
