Centre to bring law regarding paper leak

The Modi government at the Center is going to take a big step to stop rigging and bring transparency in the competitive examinations being held across the country. According to sources related to the Education Ministry, the Central Government can present a bill related to this in the Parliament during the budget session itself.

Expressing concern about rigging in competitive examinations across the country, the President himself had mentioned the law against paper leaks in his address. Let us tell you that the Central Government has taken very strict decisions to stop paper leaks.

According to report, if a Munna Bhai is caught giving the exam in place of a candidate or solving the paper, conducting the exam somewhere other than the center or not giving information about fraud related to the exam, there will be a punishment of 3 to 5 years. Along with this, the accused can be fined Rs 10 lakh.

Under the new bill, if an examination is being conducted online and its service provider is caught involved in wrongdoing, then a fine of Rs 1 crore can be imposed on him. Besides, he may also be banned from conducting examinations for 4 years. If the top management of such a company is also found involved in such activities, then a jail term of 3 to 10 years and a fine of Rs 1 crore will be imposed.

According to media reports, the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Bill, 2024 may be introduced in Parliament on Monday, but the final decision has not been taken yet. The Union Cabinet had recently approved this bill. He said that the proposed bill will not target students, rather there is a provision for action against those found involved in organized crime, mafia and collusion.

The Bill also proposes a high-level technical committee, which will make recommendations to make the examination process through computers more secure. This will be a central law and will also cover joint entrance examinations and examinations for admission to central universities. At the same time, President Draupadi Murmu had said on this entire issue that his government is aware of the concerns of the youth regarding the irregularities in the examinations. It has been decided to make a new law to bring strictness in this direction.

The incidents of paper leaks are continuously increasing across the country. Last year, after the leak of exam papers, other exams including teacher recruitment exam in Rajasthan, Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group-D posts in Haryana, recruitment exam for junior clerks in Gujarat and constable recruitment exam in Bihar were cancelled.
