New Delhi: Along with Coronavirus infection, Black Fungus or Mucormycosis disease is also spreading in the country. This disease, which directly affects the brain, has now spread to 26 states of the country. According to the information, at present, about 20 thousand patients are getting treatment in the whole country. But the big problem is the lack of injections used in its treatment. There is such a shortage that even 10 per cent of the total demand is not available for injections.

Black Fungus cases in 26 States:

Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda informed on Monday that the Central Government has allocated an additional 30,100 vials or vials of Amphotericin-B to the states and union territories. Amphotericin-B is used in the treatment of mucormycosis.

This disease is also known as black fungus which badly affects the nose, eyes, sinuses and sometimes the brain.

"Additional 30,100 vials of Amphotericin-B were allotted today to all states/UTs and central institutions," Gowda wrote on Twitter. Under the new allocation, Maharashtra has provided maximum 5,900 vials and Gujarat 5,630 vials.
