Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has termed the arrest of Arnab Goswami as an abuse of power. He tweeted and wrote that I strongly condemn this attack on freedom of press in Maharashtra. This fascist move is a sign of undisclosed emergency. Attacking journalist Arnab Goswami is an example of abuse of power. We all should stand against this attack on India's democracy.

Questioning the action, Union Minister Smriti Irani said that those who do not stand in support of Arnab today in the independent press are in support of fascism. You may not like him, you cannot accept him, you may despise his existence but if you remain silent you support oppression. Who will speak if you are next?
