The much-awaited "Pran Pratishtha" ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir is set to unfold on January 22, marking a historic moment in the cultural and religious tapestry of India. As the nation eagerly anticipates this grand event, let's delve into the significance of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, its construction, and other essential details.

Significance of Ayodhya Ram Mandir

The Ayodhya Ram Temple holds profound significance in Hinduism, revered as the birthplace of Lord Ram. It stands as a sacred pilgrimage site, embodying cultural and spiritual heritage for millions of devotees.

Foundation Stone and Oversight

The foundation stone for the Ram Mandir was laid on August 5, 2020, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The temple's management falls under the purview of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, a trust established by the central government as mandated by the Supreme Court.

Visiting Ayodhya Ram Mandir

For those seeking to visit the temple, Ayodhya offers various local transport options, including auto-rickshaws and cycle rickshaws. Nestled along the Sarayu River, the temple provides a serene backdrop for a spiritual journey.

Aarti and Darshan Timings

Devotees can partake in the divine Aarti at specific timings: Jagaran or Shringar Aarti at 6:30 am, Bhog Aarti at 12:00 pm, and Sandhya Aarti at 7:30 pm. Darshan at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir is open from 7:00 am to 11:30 am and 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Entry Fee and Passes

General entry to the temple is free, but for Aarti participation, passes are required. Thirty people are allowed at a time for each Aarti, and passes are issued by the trust upon presentation of a valid ID proof.

Ram Mandir Statue and Construction Costs

Renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj crafted the idol of 'Ram Lalla,' a black stone depiction weighing between 150-200kgs. The estimated construction cost projected by the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is ₹1,800 crore. A PTI report from October last year revealed that ₹900 crore was spent on construction between February 5, 2020, and March 31, 2023.

Infrastructure Details

The Ayodhya Ram Temple complex boasts four corner temples dedicated to the Sun god, goddess Bhagwati, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Shiva. Maa Annapurna's temple is on the northern side, with a Hanuman temple on the southern side. The foundation, constructed with a 14-meter-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete, exhibits an artificial rock appearance. A 21-foot-high plinth made of granite guards against ground moisture, showcasing the emphasis on indigenous technology and environmental water conservation.
