Army foils infiltration bid in Kupwara district, four terrorists killed

Kupwara: Four terrorists were killed in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir as the army jawans foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC). The encounter is still underway.

The incident took place in the sector of Kupwara district on Monday. The terrorists are suspected to be the part of lashkar-e-Taiba. The official said, "A group of militants attempting to infiltrate was intercepted Sunday night by alert troops deployed on the Line of Control. In the ensuing encounter four terrorists were gunned down."

Colonel Rajesh Khanna, Defence Ministry spokesperson said, "A major infiltration bid from across the LoC was foiled by the Army troops in Keran sector yesterday (Sunday) evening."

The area has been cordoned off and the security forces are investigating that is there any terrorist still left.
