Amritsar: Grenade attack at prayer hall; 3 dead, several injured

Amritsar: Three people were killed and many were critically injured in a blast in Amritsar. The incident took place around 12 O'clock when hundreds of people gathered to attend a religious event at Nirankari Bhawan.

According to the reports, two motorcycle borne youth threw a grenade at the followers of the sect.

Deputy commissioner Kamaldeep Singh Sangha has confirmed the death of three and he also said that the investigation is on. The miscreants will soon be nabbed.

Congress Chief of Punjab, Sunil Jakhar, "My condolences are with the families of those who lost their lives in this incident. It is an attempt to disturb peace in Punjab. All the security agencies are on high alert and coordinating with each other to maintain peace."
