Three southern states Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have accused the central government of discriminating in the allocated funds.

Karnataka Congress leaders are already protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and today MPs from Tamil Nadu and Kerala will also protest in Delhi. These state governments are accusing the Center of being "injustice" to them in transfers and grants-in-aid in the last few years. She wants to attract the Centre's attention through protests.

MPs of the ruling DMK and its alliance partners in Tamil Nadu will protest near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament complex today. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and members of his Left Front government are going to protest at Jantar Mantar today. Let us inform that under the leadership of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, many leaders of the state unit of Congress demonstrated at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday over the "injustice" done to the state in tax revenue distribution.

He demanded immediate release of the state's share. In this protest, deputy chief minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D.K. Shivkumar, many MPs, ministers and MLAs of the state participated. They allege that the state's share in tax revenue has been deliberately reduced.

DK Shivkumar said that the state is in second place in terms of GST collection and is the biggest contributor to the country's revenue. "We are demanding our rights, we are demanding our share," he said. He alleged that the Karnataka government had asked for drought relief funds from the Center but not even a single rupee was given. They are also demanding to correct the loss of Rs 1.87 lakh crore caused to the state government.

Congress leaders involved in the protest said that the Central Government should compensate the alleged loss of Rs 1.87 lakh crore suffered by Karnataka under the 15th Finance Commission. BJP has launched its own protest in Bengaluru to highlight the "failures" of the Congress government in Karnataka.

BJP MLAs and leaders, led by party state president BY Vijayendra, yesterday staged a protest in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi near Vidhana Soudha, which houses Karnataka's state legislature and secretariat. Holding placards, the protesters demanded relief for drought-hit farmers and Condemned the Congress government for allegedly failing to provide incentives to milk producers and raised slogans.
