New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday urged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to help those trapped in a gurdwara in Afghanistan after the Taliban take over. Arrangements should be made to evacuate all Indians including 200 Sikhs immediately.

200 Sikhs stuck in Afghanistan:

In a tweet tagging the Ministry of External Affairs, Captain Amarinder Singh said: "My government stands ready to extend any help to ensure their safe evacuation."

Emphasizing on extra vigil on all borders of the country, he said that Taliban occupation of Afghanistan is not good for India. The Taliban's occupation of Afghanistan will strengthen the Sino-Pak alliance against India.

On Independence Day on the previous day too, while talking about being fully vigilant against Pakistan, the Captain had said that Pakistan is always on the lookout to create problems. "We want peace but will not tolerate any aggressive action or attack on our territory," he had said.

The Chief Minister said that if Pakistan creates any trouble, then we will teach them such a lesson which they will remember for life. Referring to the use of drones by neighboring countries to smuggle arms and narcotics into the state, Captain Amarinder Singh warned that Pakistan would leave no chance to take advantage of any delicate situation in Punjab.

The captain had said in the tweet that the signs are not good at all, we need to be extra cautious on all our borders now. India is trying to evacuate hundreds of its officials and citizens from Kabul after President Ashraf Ghani left the country on Sunday. According to Afghanistan's Tolo News, Ghani and his allies have left the country as the Taliban entered Kabul after capturing almost all major cities and provincial capitals.
