Bad cholesterol levels cause many diseases. Cholesterol is a kind of sticky fatty substance, whose excessive increase proves harmful for health in many ways. Increased cholesterol levels can be caused by obesity, lack of active lifestyle, smoking, bad eating habits and other health conditions.

Bad cholesterol accumulates in the veins and blocks the blood vessels, obstructing the blood flow of the body. Due to this, dirty cholesterol causes pain in many parts of the body and may even lead to heart attack. But, high cholesterol can be reduced by paying attention to diet and improving lifestyle.

Know here which seeds can reduce cholesterol levels by including them in the diet.

Chia seeds:

Chia seeds can be consumed to reduce cholesterol. Chia seeds are often included in the count of healthy seeds and these seeds not only reduce bad cholesterol but also reduce weight gain. Chia seeds contain a good amount of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids which are effective in reducing bad cholesterol and blood pressure.

Flax seeds:

Eating small brown flax seeds can help in reducing cholesterol levels. Many nutrients are found in flax seeds. These seeds are rich in fiber and contain Omega-3 fatty acids. The body gets calcium and also protein from these. These seeds prove to be effective in reducing LDL i.e. bad cholesterol. Flax seeds can be roasted and eaten. These seeds can be added to salads, smoothies and soups. Half a teaspoon of flax seeds can be eaten daily.

Pumpkin seeds:

Pumpkin seeds are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids keep healthy. These seeds reduce high cholesterol and also improve heart health. These seeds also contain abundant amount of fiber. Wash and clean pumpkin seeds and keep them roasted. These seeds taste good and are crunchy to eat.
