In our country people use antibiotics indiscriminately. Most people are unaware of the ill effects of eating it. For this reason, it is very important to know how many deaths occur in the world every year and how badly it affects our health. Now the government has started paying attention to this serious issue.

Director General of Health Services, Dr. Atul Goyal has appealed in a letter to all the doctors of medical colleges to compulsorily mention the appropriate reason while prescribing antibiotics. Let us tell you that the Director General of Health Services works within the Union Health Ministry.

A letter has been issued regarding what steps the government is going to take regarding antibiotics, advising not only doctors but also pharmacists to implement Schedule H and H1 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules and only valid prescriptions. Sell antibiotics only after seeing.

The government reports that antibiotics are one of the world's top public health threats. "It is estimated that 1.27 million global deaths in 2019 were caused by the bacteria AMR while 4.95 million deaths were caused by drug-resistant infections alone," the letter issued by the health ministry said.

The letter stated that antibiotics threaten many of the benefits of modern medicine. It also jeopardizes effective prevention and treatment of infections caused by resistant pathogens, leading to chronic illness and increased risk of death.

Appealing to the medical colleges, the letter said that these colleges not only take care of the health of a large section of the country but also prepare the young generation of doctors. They will also have to deal with the upcoming challenges. For this reason, it becomes important that doctors educate the next generation of doctors in medical colleges about the correct use of antibiotics.
