Hyderabad: Winning the toss turned out to be a boon for Bhuvneshwar Kumar-less Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as they managed to restrict Mumbai Indians (MI) to a decent total of 147/8 in allotted 20 overs in Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium here on Thursday.

Some of the MI batsmen got a good start but seemed to be in a hurry losing their wickets for least benefit. Skipper Rohit Sharma failed once again losing his wicket for individual score of 11 runs off 10 balls with 1 four and a six.

His opening partner Evin Lewis though played some good looking shots but lost his wicket trying to play an over ambitions shot. He scored 29 runs off 17 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Ishan Kishan, who played a considerable inning in the opening encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), failed this time losing his wicket for 9 runs off 9 balls with 2 fours.

Suryakumar Yadav also had a good stay at the crease but he also failed to capitalise the situation losing his wicket for 28 runs off 31 balls with 2 fours and a six.

Krunal Pandya who played a blistering inning in the last match failed today and got out at 15 runs off 10 balls with 2 boundaries. Kieron Pollard was middling the ball well till he scored 28 runs off 23 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, but he also could not stay at the crease till the end.

Ben Cutting (9 off 9, 1 four) could not stand in front of the attacking bowling of Sunrisers. Pradeep Sangwan who has been included in place of Hardik Pandya could not open his account off the four deliveries he faced.

Mayank Markande remained unbeaten at 6 runs off 3 balls with a boundary while Jasprit Bumrah scored 4 runs off 5 balls.

Sandeep Sharma, who has been given a chance in place of injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar, was the pick of the bowlers as he plucked two wickets for 25 runs in his 4 overs, while Billy Stanlake and Siddharth Kaul also managed two scalps each. Stanlake, however, went for too many conceding 42 runs.

Rashid Khan was once again tremendously economical giving away only 13 runs off his 4 overs. He also picked up a wicket. Shakib Al Hasan went for 34 runs for 1 wicket in his spell of 4 overs.

It seems like SRH may not face any troubles in chasing down a target as decent as 148 runs on their home ground.
