Mukesh Ambani receives death threat, Mumbai Police launch probe

An unknown person emailed Mukesh Ambani demanding Rs 20 crore and threatened to kill him if he did not pay the money.

Reliance Group MD and the country's well-known businessman Mukesh Ambani received death threats today.

An unknown person emailed Mukesh Ambani demanding Rs 20 crore and threatened to kill him if he did not pay the money.

According to sources, this email was sent to Ambani on 27 October. After Mukesh Ambani received the threat, the police immediately became active and registered a case against an unknown person and started investigation.

It was written in the threatening email- “IF you don't give us 20 crore rupees, we will kill you, we have the best shooters in India” After receiving this email, based on the complaint of Mukesh Ambani's security in-charge, Gamdevi police has started investigation by registering an FIR against an unknown person under sections 387 and 506 (2) of IPC.

Mukesh Ambani has Z+ security:

The Union Home Ministry (MHA) had increased the security of industrialist Mukesh Ambani on September 29. MHA has given him Z+ category security. Mukesh Ambani pays the expenses on security. This expenditure is Rs 40 to 45 lakh per month. Earlier he had got Z category security. According to media reports, the Home Ministry took this decision on the recommendation of IB. IB had expressed fear of danger to Mukesh Ambani.

Ambani family had received threat even a year ago.

On August 15, 2022 also, Mukesh Ambani's family had received death threats. According to Mumbai Police, threatening phone calls were made on the display number of Reliance Foundation Hospital. The caller threatened that his entire family would be destroyed within three hours. The police had arrested a person in this case. After this, in the month of February this year, a person called Nagpur Police Control Room and threatened to blast Mukesh Ambani's house in Antilia. Antilia's security was further tightened soon after the threat was received.
