Vivek Oberoi issues an amusing apology to Mumbai Police; here's WHY
Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor shared a video wherein he was seen riding his new Harley Davidson with wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi in the night.
On Saturday, Vivek Oberoi was charged for violating traffic rules after a video of him riding a bike without wearing a helmet and mask went viral. The Santacruz traffic police issued an e-challan to the actor for flouting the traffic norms. According to a report in PTI, an FIR was registered against him for not wearing a mask after he posted a video of his bike ride on Valentine’s Day. Taking to his Twitter handle, the actor shared a video wherein he was seen riding his new Harley Davidson with wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi in the night.
Now, the Shootout at Lokhandwala star has issued an apology to Mumbai Police and also thanked them for making him realise that safety is very important. He also requested his fans to stay safe and wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle. He tweeted, “Pyaar humein kis mod pe le aaya!Nikle they nayi bike par hum aur hamari jaan, bina helmet ke kat gaya chalaan!Riding without a helmet?Mumbai police will do a checkmate!Thank u @mumbaipolice for making me realise that safety is always most important. Be safe,Wear a helmet & a mask.”

For the unversed, social activist Meenu Varghese, who reshared the actor's video on her handle, had requested Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and the state police to take action against Oberoi for violating traffic rules. On the request, Santacruz traffic police had also issued an e-challan of Rs 500 against the Yuva actor.
