Verdict in Arms Act case against Salman Khan expected today

Jodhpur: A local court in Jodhpur will announce its verdict against Salman Khan in a case under the Arms Act on Wednesday.

The case was filed, in October 1998, against the Bollywood's Dabangg for allegedly keeping and using fire arms with expired license in the poaching of black-bucks in Kankani near Jodhpur.

Salman Khan accompanied with his sister Alvira will be appearing in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

The Rajasthan High Court has acquitted him in two cases of poaching of chinkara and the trial in the third case of alleged poaching of two black bucks is still going on.

Salman Khan who earlier appeared in the court on March 10, 2016 had pleaded innocence and claimed that the case has been framed by the forest department.

Counsel HM Saraswat said," We had argued in the court that there was no evidence that Khan was carrying fire arms either during his stay here or during alleged poaching. What he was found in possession with, were actually the air guns."

The verdict will be pronounced by the Chief judicial magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit.

Huge number of policemen have been deployed to the court and media persons and advocates have been asked to stay away from the court premises.

On the work front, Salman Khan is working on the movies Tube light and Tiger Zinda Hai.

The flick is expected to release on Eid 2017.
