Twitter suspends Abhijeet's account; Tweeple come in support
New Delhi: Following his offensive tweets against women, Bollywood noted singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya's Twitter account was suspended by the social media company on Tuesday.
"Account Suspended: This account has been suspended...," stated the message from Twitter on his handle.
Abhijeet, who is known for his controversial tweets, had posted consecutive tweets against JNU student activist Shehla Rashid following which some of the neitzens lodged a complaint.
"There is rumour she took money for two hours and didn't satisfy the client... Big racket," he tweeted about the JNU student.
After the suspension on Abhijeet's Twitter handle, Shehla Rashid took to micro-blogging site to thank everyone for their support.
"Sincere thanks to everyone for the support. Abhijit had to delete his tweet.His Twitter account has also been suspended," she tweeted.

Abhijeet named Arundhati Roy and JNU supporters behind the suspension of his Twitter account.
"They are trying to block Paresh Rawal also. All Arundhati and JNU group behind this after Paresh Rawal and I tweeted against Arundhati for her anti-India stand," he said. Abhijeet said that entire nation is with him.

The 58-year old singer is also getting support of Tweeple as #IStandWithAbhijeet is trending on Twitter.
It may be mentioned here that Abhijeet Bhattacharya has voiced songs for flicks like 'Om Shanti Om', 'Dhoom', Gangster' etc.
