Mumbai: A local court in Bihar, on Tuesday has ordered to register an FIR against the main lead of controversial movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister’, Anupam Kher & 13 others in connection with the petition filed by Advocate Sudhir Ojha against the film.'

The Accidental Prime Minister’ has gained its status of being 2019s the most controversial movie, by burlesquing one of India's most influential political parties.

In his complaint, Ojha alleged that he felt "hurt" upon viewing the promos of the movie.

The complaint is registered against actor and actresses who have played the roles of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, journalist Sanjaya Baru alongside the movie's producer and director and many others are named in the petition.

He also claimed that the film projects the country and its political leaders in very poor light.

The petition was filed under IPC sections 295, 153, 153A , 293, 504 and 120B relating to promoting enmity between different groups, insult with intent to provoke breach of peace and criminal conspiracy and sale of obscene objects.

The movie ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ is based on a book of the same name by Sanjay Baru, Manmohan Singh’s media advisor at the time when he was holding PM office.

The character of Manmohan Singh is enacted by actor Anupam Kher. The other roles are played by actors like Akshaye Khanna as Sanjaya Baru a political commentator, Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi the former president of Indian National Congress, Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi the daughter of Sonia Gandhi, Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi the son of Sonia Gandhi.

The Accidental Prime Minister is based on Sanjaya Baru's book of the same name. Baru was the former media advisor of Manmohan Singh.

A plea was also filed by a Delhi-based designer, demanding a ban on the trailer of a film, was later rejected by Delhi High Court. The plea alleged that the movie maligns the image of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The film is slated for January 11 release.
