Mumbai: Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who has recently portrayed journey of one of the India’s most beloved cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the super-hit film 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', seemed to got hurt after the former cricket captain’s abilities were questioned by his senior.

Sushant, on Monday took a subtle dig at former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly after the Rising Pune Supergiant wicketkeeper-batsman finally hit form in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

It could be recalled that, earlier, Ganguly had stated that he wasn't too sure if Dhoni was a good T20 batsman but Rajput was quick to jump to Dhoni's defence after MSD showed the style he is famous for.

Sushant took to twitter as soon as the former Indian captain hit an unbeaten fifty to lead Pune to a thrilling last-ball win against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday last and taking a jibe at Dada tweeted that he was proud of captain cool. Rajput, however, did not name Ganguly but his tweet made it clear as to who he was targeting.

What had Ganguly stated:

  • Earlier this month, Ganguly had said that he does not think that Dhoni is a good Twenty20 player anymore.
  • He said, "I am not too sure if Dhoni is a good T20 player. He is a champion ODI player but when it comes to T20 cricket, in 10 years, he has got one fifty and that's not the best record."

It is worth mentioning that after facing a series of flop shows coming his way, Dhoni's reputation as a top-notch finisher was at stake but he proved himself unbeatable yet again, scoring an unbeaten 61 when his team needed it more than anything else.
