If nepotism really rocks in B'wood, why these star kids failed?

Mumbai: The word 'Nepotism' has become a talk of the town with star kids and even the senior actors getting involved in heated debates revolving around it.

While few settle over that Bollywood is nepotistic, some others feel differently.

It is, however, true that people with Godfathers and connections get easy entry in Bollywood but sustaining in the Hindi film industry is not a cakewalk and solely depends on individual’s diligence and talent.

Below are few examples of people with ‘Godfathers’ in Hindi film industry, whose career failed to take off, despite having a strong Bollywood connection!

1) Mahaakshay Chakraborty

He is the son of legendary actor Mithun Chakraborty but despite this, the actor’s career never took any major elevation. He made a debut in 2008 with a movie ‘Jimmy’ and was nominated for Filmfare Award For Best Male Debut that year. His film ‘Haunted-3d’ was a hit but after that his career never saw percieved growth!

2) Sohail Khan

He is from one of the prominent family of Hindi cinema but even after this, he never delivered the performance that was expected out of him. He did many movies but none of them gave him the stature of a ‘star’.

3) Jackky Bhagnani

He is blessed with impeccable looks and is a son of producer Vashu Bhagnani. Even having the mentioned advantages, his career in Hindi cinema never donned the attire of success. Lot was expected from this ‘good-looking’ actor when he made his debut with ‘Kal Kisne Dekha’ in 2009 but his career has not seen any considerable film success.

4) Zoa Morani

She made her debut with a film ‘Always Kabhi-Kabhi’ in 2011 and is a daughter of film producer Karim Morani. Her role in that flick did not require any heavy lifting and the actress switched to modeling, soon after the release of the film.

5) Sasheh Agha

She is the combination of great genes and has most of her relatives connected to Hindi film indusrty in some or the other manner. The young actress is the daughter of renowned singer and actor, Salma Agha. This girl made her debut with a flick ‘Aurangzeb’ in 2013, but was labelled vapid by critics and is not seen on big-screen since then.

6) Jugal Hansraj

Jugal Hansraj started his career as a child actor and his first breakthrough as an adult was in the flick ‘Mohobbatein’. He is a close friend of director-producer Karan Johar and it has been alleged that it was this connection that got him entered in Bollywood lanes. Even after being friends with one the honchos of Hindi cinema, Jugal’s film career never reached any considerable level of achievement in Bollywood.

7) Karan Kapoor

Not much is known about Karan Kapoor except the fact that he is a son of late Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor. He tried his hands on Indian cinema with the movie ‘Junoon’ in 1978 and went on to act in 4-5 films. However, his looks were considered to be too foreign for Indian screens and his career in Hindi cinema sank like a stone.

8) Adhyayan Suman

He is better known by his second Bollywood release ‘Raaz-The Mystery Continues’ which hit the theatres in 2009. Adhyayan Suman is the son of Actor Shekhar Suman and in spite of giving a hit to Bollywood, he was unable to sustain his acting career.

9) Suneil Anand

Devanand’s son Suneil Anand is barely known to Hindi cinema. He did few movies during 80s and they flopped badly. After that, he never shown his face on the celluloid as an actor.

10) Kumar Gaurav

His maiden movie was released in 1981 (Love Story) and was a huge blockbuster. Son of late actor Rajendra Kumar, after the actor’s first movie, his career in Hindi cinema never tasted flavor of success.
