SSR Case: Bombay HC quashes FIR against Meetu Singh; No relief for Priyanka Singh

The Bombay High Court, on Monday, quashed the FIR filed against late Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Meetu Singh. However, the FIR filed by Rhea Chakraborty against Sushant's sister Priyanka Singh was not quashed. As per ANI, "Bombay High quashes the FIR against Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Mitu Singh; FIR against his other sister Priyanka not quashed." Further, as per Bar & Bench, the Bombay HC's Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik presided over the bench.

Bombay HC quashes FIR against Meetu Singh

Their Bench held, "There is prima facie case found against Priyanka Singh and there should not be any impediment against investigation against her." In 2020, Rhea had gone ahead to file an FIR against late Sushant's sisters Meetu and Priyanka along with a New Delhi-based doctor for forging and getting a 'fake' medical prescription of the Chhichhore star. The FIR was filed on September 8, 2020, by Mumbai Police and it was based on a six-page complaint against Priyanka, Meetu, and DR Tarun Kumar from RML Hospital in New Delhi. The complainant was by Rhea. The FIR was registered under various sections of the IPC and NDPS Act.

Later, Sushant's sisters had gone ahead to challenge the FIR filed by Rhea against them. Sushant's sisters reportedly claimed that Rhea was changing statements to make a new story. Based on it, Sushant's sisters had gone ahead to file a petition before the Bombay High Court on October 6, 2020, to quash the FIR against them.

Rhea’s FIR against Priyanka not quashed

Today, the Bombay High Court Bench, consisting of Justice SS Shinde and MS Karnik have dismissed the FIR against Meetu but not the one against Priyanka. The verdict was reportedly reserved on January 8, 2021.

Earlier during the day, Sushant's sister Shweta Singh Kirti had penned an emotional post for her late brother and urged him to come back, 8 months after his death. Sushant was found dead at his house on June 14, 2020.
