SRK Vs Akshay Kumar: It is more than a clash of superstars

Mumbai: While the Box Office pundits are scratching their heads regarding the big Independence Day clash between the two self-made superstars of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar, we are here to add some more spices in the platter.

It is not only a battle of two superstars, it is also a clash of two filmmakers who have done some remarkable works in the B-town. Be it Neeraj Pandey or Imtiaz Ali, these two brains have always provided different pieces to the industry.

Since his first film titled, ‘A Wednesday’, Neeraj has given back to back hits in the form of ‘Special 26’, ‘Baby’, ‘Rustom’ and ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. What makes his B-town record more interesting is the appreciation of his work by the critics.

On the other hand, Imtiaz Ali has also delivered some great piece of work and critics have always backed his classic rare content.

His critically loved projects include ‘Tamasha’, ‘Highway’, ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Black Friday’. Excluding ‘Jab We Met’, no other film of ‘Rockstar’ director rocked at Box Office.

Moving to the Independence Day clash, Shah Rukh Khan, in every face-off with Khiladi Kumar, has emerged victorious. But, Akki has got all the cards which could turn the table this time following his four back-to back 100 cr hits at the Box Office.

King Khan’s last two flicks including ‘Raees’ and ‘Dear Zindagi’, however, did not score the expected numbers.

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha:

  • Shree Narayan Singh is all set to make directorial debut with ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’.
  • Produced by Neeraj Pandey, the film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead.

The Ring:

  • This is for the third time when Shah Rukh Khan – Anushka Sharma pair will be seen sharing the screen.
  • ‘The Ring’ is written and directed by Imtiaz Ali.
