Mumbai: Sanjay Mishra’s film Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain won 'Audience Choice Award' for Best Feature Film at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) 2017.

Actor Anshuman Jha with Director Harish Vyas and Producer Manav Malhotra attended the World Premiere held at SAIFF NYC on December 15th.

Mishra, who is known for his power-packed performances in films like 'Aankhon Dekhi', 'Masaan', 'Kadvi Hawa', was thrilled to have his next 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain' bagging award at the International Premiere.

The screening at the Sunshine theater was followed by a media interrogation with the team.

Actor Anushuman Jha, who is widely known for his roles in 'Chauranga', 'Mona Darling' etc, was present along with Director Harish Vyas and Producer Manav Malhotra.

Director Harish Vyas said, "Angrezi Main Kehta Hain comes with a slice of life, family drama set in the temple town of #Varanasi, where Yashwant (played by talent powerhouse, Sanjay Mishra) realises that one needs to put old wine in a new bottle to bring romance back into his rusty #married life."

Speaking at the Q&A, Producer Manav Malhotra said, “In 'Angrezi Main Kehta Hain' we have tried to explore this grossly sidelined aspect of middle age love. It addresses a certain neglected romance of married life amidst growing up children and the routine mundane humdrum where love gets buried underneath layers of duties and commitments of life. Our film also tends to throw light on the social message, how kids react to parents romance and how parents lead their lives in middle-class India. Sanjay comes across as a Middle class honest and very relatable character. He is someone who has got critical acclaim, has done a variety of cinema. We needed our protagonist for his realistic approach as our character becomes a hero in the process.”

Speaking about the film, Director Harish Vyas said, “It’s a romantic film. It is a middle-aged love story. I wanted to address this side of romance which is subdued and wrapped in the fine nuances of the daily grind. Romance in India belongs to the younger youthful generation. Sanjay Ji was the only person I had in mind to play this character."

Other artists in the Film include the most promising Anshuman Jha, the most versatile Pankaj Tripathi and the new talent Ekavali Khanna, Brijendra Kala, Shivani Raghuvanshi, Teji Sandhi, Imran Zahid & Shukla.

Music is by Onir-Adil, Ranjan Sharma, Cinematography by Faroukh Mistry, Film Editing by Suresh Pai, Production Design by Shankar Samanta, Art Direction by Gautam Naresh, Costume Design by Priyanka Pandey, Sneha Sharma, Playback singers include Mohit Chauhan, Pushplata & Shaan.
