Another attack on SLB’s Padmawati, unidentified men destroy film set

Mumbai: In another attack on Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmawati, unidentified miscreants on Tuesday night vandalised and set ablaze the flick’s set in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra.

Fortunately, nobody was harmed during the attack as the filmmaker and the crew were not present at the sets when the incident took place.

It may be mentioned that this was the second attack on the award winning director’s controversial flick. While Bhansali was shooting for the film earlier in January last, some activists of Rajput organisation ‘Karni Sena’ had stormed the Jaigarh Fort and assaulted SLB, slapping him and tearing his shirt off. The irate men had damaged the cameras along with other equipment forcing Bhansali to stop the shooting. Raising an objection to the film’s script, they had even misbehaved with the crew.

Informatively, the flick is about medieval-era ruler of Delhi Alauddin Khilji who fell in love with Padmawati, the Rajput queen. It has Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukonde in leading roles.
