Robert Pattinson takes U-turn on 'sex with dog' statement

Los Angeles: Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson says he was joking on TV show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" when he said that he was asked to perform a sexual act on a dog on the set of his new movie "Good Time".

Pattinson made the joke on Thursday night when he said that he refused his director's request to do a sexual act with a dog. His story soon went viral, even earning him praises from the animal rights group PETA, which thanked him for declining the request.

The "Twilight" actor, however, has now clarified that he was just joking on the show, reports aceshowbiz.com.

Trying to set the record straight, Robert Pattinson said that "the story I told on 'Jimmy Kimmel' last night seems to have spiraled out of control."

"What didn't come across is that this was supposed to be a joke. No one at all expected or assumed that anything like that would happen on the 'Good Time' set," he said.

Robert Pattinson added, "We are all huge animal lovers and would obviously never do anything to harm an animal. Everyone involved in 'Good Time' are amazing professionals and have come together to make a movie that I'm extremely proud of."

"I feel embarrassed that in the moment, I was trying to make Jimmy laugh, only to create confusion and a false impression."
