Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer REACTS to NCB’s charge sheet; Calls it damp squib

Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty, who were arrested in the drugs nexus case last year, made the headlines once again after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had filed a 1200 page charge sheet in the case against 33 people including the Chakraborty siblings. While this new update in the drugs case has got everyone on their toes, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde has also reacted to the charge sheet and called it a damp squib along with stating that NCB’s all efforts are directed towards the actress.

In fact, Maneshinde is of the opinion that the case has no substance without Rhea being charged in the case and the ‘narcotics substance recovered’ from the 33 accused is nothing compared to what agencies recover in a single raid. “The entire NCB from top to bottom was engaged in unearthing drug angle in Bollywood. There’s hardly any material against any known faces who were paraded during the investigations, I wonder why? Either the allegations were false or only God knows the Truth.

The charge sheet is a damp squib standing on the foundation of Inadmissible Evidence and Statements recorded under section 67 of the NDPS Act even after the Supreme Court Judgement in Toofan Singh Judgement.

For the uninitiated, the Bollywood drugs nexus case came into light during the investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
