Model convicted for conspiring to murder Madhur Bhandarkar | Gets bail

Mumbai: A sessions court on Friday convicted model Preeti Jain for three years along with a fine of Rs 10,000 for conspiring to kill Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar.

Preeti, however, was given bail by the court with precondition of payment of fine imposed along with a bail amount of Rs. 15,000.b The bail has been given to the model along with two other people.

Mumbai Court also suspended the sentence given to the model-actor for 4 weeks to appeal in the High Court.

She had paid gangster Arun Gawli's aide Naresh Pardeshi to kill the National Award winning director. Preeti Jain had alleged Bhandarkar of sexually exploiting her after offering him a role in his films.

Along with Preeti, two of her aides, Naresh Pardeshi and Shivram Das, had also been sentenced to three years of jail for helping her.

Madhur Bhandarkar has given some remarkable films in Bollywood including 'Page 3', 'Traffic Signal', 'Fashion' and 'Chandni Bar'.
