Kangana to be ‘Jhansi ki Raani’ in Ketan Mehta’s next

Mumbai: Filmmaker Ketan Mehta, who last directed the biopic Manjhi- The Mountain Man, has come forward with his new project ‘Rani Lakshmi Bai’ in which the National Film Award winning actress ‘Kangana Ranaut’ will be seen playing the role of ‘Jhansi ki Rani’.

” Kangana will be seen in a new look in the historical film and will have to undergo a lot of training which includes sword fighting and horse riding”, Mehta said. The movie is based on the lady warrior of the first Indian war of independence (1857).

Mehta has recently filmed a short movie ’Toba Tek Singh’ as a part of ‘Zeal for Unity’ initiative, as an effort to the stress between India and Pakistan.
