'I love Shah Rukh sir': Rajkummar Rao calls SRK as his biggest inspiration

Rajkummar Rao is an actor par excellence and his body of work proves the same. With several blockbusters to his credit, the National Award winning actor has carved a niche for himself in the film industry. The Stree actor has proved his versatility as an actor time and again. But do you know who is his inspiration? Well, it’s none other than the superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The dashing actor calls King Khan as his biggest inspiration and asserted that he became an actor because of the King of Romance.

Rajkummar Rao:

In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Rajkummar spoke of his admiration and love for the superstar. He was quoted as saying, “I love Shah Rukh sir. I am an actor because of him. While growing up in Gurgaon, I used to mimic him. I was so fond of him that when I came to Mumbai for the first time in class XI, I went to Bandra and stood outside Mannat (SRK’s home) for hours, hoping to get a glimpse of him.”

Interestingly, the talented actor got his dream fulfilled when he got an opportunity to meet the Raees star at his residence. While recalling that meeting, he said, “When I became an actor, I got a golden opportunity of meeting him at his house. Of course, I have met him several times after that. He is one of the most charming people I have ever met. He makes you feel so special and whoever has met him can vouch for that. Beyond the fact that I love him as an actor, he is a great human being.”

On the work front, Rajkummar is gearing up for the release of his film Ludo that will release on OTT platform on November 12. He will also be seen in the Hansal Mehta directorial Chhalaang.
