Ganesh Festival: This is what TV stars have to say on this occasion

Lucknow: The Ganesh festival is almost in and preparations for it are on peak. On this auspicious occasion, various TV stars shared their feelings.

Ankit Bathla aka Arjun from Paramavatar Shri Krishna said, “It’s that time of the year when everyone looks forward to welcoming the most lovable and adorable guest - Ganeshji. Every year, I welcome Ganpati Bappa at home with my entire family in attendance. This year the celebration is even more special for me as my beloved sister will be visiting us for the festival".

He further added, "For me, this festival is all about peace and positivity in life. I really enjoy the way the festival brings everyone together. The celebration is all about decorations, indulging in the devotional songs, food, and visitors. The theme we have kept for the decor this time symbolizes sunrise, which is a representation of hope and happiness, two things which I wish to spread amongst people.”

Rohitashv Gour a.k.a Tiwari Ji of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain said, “I realized the value and scale of Ganesh Chaturthi only after moving out from Kalka, Chandigarh and shifting to Mumbai. I began celebrating this festival for one and a half days with my family after getting married but considering the environmental impact and damage caused by the normal Ganesh idols, we decided to switch over to eco-friendly ones. Since the last 2 years, we have been celebrating the festival with eco-friendly idols for 5 days while constantly urging people via videos to follow the same and think about the environment. Like every year, this year too we would be hosting Ganeshji at our home and on this occasion, I wish that our show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ continues climbing the ladder of success while spreading happiness.”

Sarrtaj Gill aka Muddu from Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari wrote, “Every year on Ganesh Chaturthi, I celebrate the festival at my uncle’s place. We bring in the idol on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi and offer him our prayers and food for 2 days before we bid him goodbye. In my teenage years, I would do the Ganpati visarjan of our idol on the third day of the festival. It was more like a duty which I had to abide to. Over the years, I have come to believe that we should start organizing common Ganpati celebrations in every colony so that there is less usage of plaster of Paris and lesser harm is caused to the environment. In my opinion, people should switch to ‘Shadu’ Ganpati idols as they are made of mud and don’t cause harm to the environment once immersed in the sea. This Ganesh Chaturthi I want to urge people to reduce the usage of POP and shift their focus to more eco-friendly ways of celebrating the festival.”

Kamna Pathak aka Rajesh from Happu Ki Ulatn Paltan also said, “Lord Ganesha is the only deity whose name is always pronounced at the beginning of any prayer or auspicious work. I think Ganesh Chaturthi is a really beautiful and warm festival, particularly since it gives the entire family a chance to bond after a brief period of separation. I have always worshipped Lord Ganeshji and believed him to be the reason behind my constant success. In fact, as a kid, I always thought that any wish whispered in Ganeshji’s ear, will surely come true in life. Here's wishing everyone a week filled with beautiful memories and a life filled with blessings! Ganpati Bappa Morya!"

Saumya Tandon aka Anita Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain said, “There are many idols of Ganeshji at our home but we do not immerse the idol. The idea of eco-friendly idols is something that I don’t follow and strongly feel that the ritual of immersing idols cause immense water pollution, dirty the coastal lines and kills the sea life. It saddens me to see the same idol that we worship and revere, lying on the beaches broken. Even the processions that are carried during Ganesh Chaturthi are extremely noisy, the kind of music that is played does not depict any kind of religious sentiment, it causes traffic and disrupts the normal life. I believe festivals are meant to be celebrated peacefully and religiously. Following traditions that cause disturbance to others or the environment is not a sign of an evolved society. Keeping the sanctity of the festival intact, we do a puja at home. I decorate the house and sweets are prepared at home, that’s how I prefer celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. Also we will be shooting a special Ganesh Chaturthi sequence on Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, so double celebrations this festival season.”
