Filmfare not fair: Akshay Kumar ignored, fans lash out

Mumbai: The nomination list of 62^nd Jio Filmfare awards was unveiled on Tuesday. The list left Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar fans in surprise as despite giving three super-hits including ‘Airlift’, the actor has been ignored yet again in an award show.

In 2016, Khiladi Kumar became the only actor ever to score three centuries with three biggies (Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom) in a single calendar year.

Khiladi Kumar, at various platforms, has revealed the truth behind these award functions which might be the major reason of expulsion of his films in award functions.

“Lot of times I get calls, they say we will give you award but please perform on stage at half your price. I tell them keep your awards, give me the entire amount. Almost every award ceremony in India is scripted,” Akshay had said in a talk show.

In talk shows including ‘Koffee with Karan’ and ‘The Anupam Kher Show- Kucch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai’, the hit machine has revealed the same about Indian award functions.

Meanwhile, Akki fans lashed out at Filmfare, calling it a fake award show. The blast of Akkians left the hashtag FILMFARE AWARDs ON SALE on Twitter.

It may be recalled here that Aamir Khan had left visiting any award function due to Shah Rukh Khan. Lastly, Aamir appeared in an award function in 1995-96. SRK has won the best actor award for ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ while Aamir believed that he deserved that award.
