I want to do films that reflect my thinking: Emraan Hashmi

Mumbai: During the trailer launch of the Milan Luthria's ‘Baadshaho’ actor Emraan received thunderous applause when he stated that fall down seven times and stand up eight when asked him about the series of box-office failures.

Emraan Hashmi was one of the bankable actor in the film industry but from last few years his films Azhar, Mr. X, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Raaz: Reboot didn’t worked at the box office when asked him whether there is any kind of pressure coming off with this film, Emraan replied, “There is a saying that fall down seven times stand up eight so I definitely I have high hopes with this film but I feel the only way to avoid making a flop film is don’t make a film at all. I have learned in this industry that, you have to keep working and if you start thinking and getting insecure then I don’t think there is any place for you in this industry. I know things haven’t been good last couple of years but that hasn’t dented my spirits at all. I am still very excited. I feel this is the best time in my career as kind of films that I have lined up. This kind of subject, I always wanted to do”

“For this industry also, people are saying that it’s a grim time because films are not doing very well but I think it’s very positive time because I feel it’s time for contemplation, introspection and just understanding that we have to do something different to make things work”.

This is the second time Emraan Hashmi, Ajay Devgn and Milan Luthria coming together after their first successful outing Once upon Time in Mumbai so when asked Emraan what was the difference in approaching both films, He said, “We knew that when Milan, Ajay and me coming together for a film after 7 years so there will be some kind of expectation from this film and there was also conjecture that this film will be like Once Upon Time In Mumbai in which there will be conflict between me and Ajay but when Milan came up with this script I was very happy that he broke mould . Its heist film. It has romance and action but Milan has given unusual spin to heist film.”

When asked Emraan what kind of chemistry he shared with Ajay in this film, he stated, “Chemistry is one such thing which you can’t work or rehearse. I feel we found certain momentum with our first film and people really like that film. I feel it just come across because we have asked earlier whether we rehearse to get this kind of vibe on sets. We don’t try too much. We just learn our lines and try to give our shot in first one or two take”.

Emraan has been working in this industry from last 13-14 years when asked him whether filmmaking and acting does get better with time, Emraan said, “For me, every film feels like a new film. With every film, the dynamics are very different and every film comes with its own set of hurdles and from that you learn things so I think for an actor, it’s always necessary to be on his toes with every film. Whenever I have release, I have bag of hopes and I have learned something new from each and every film that I have done”

Emraan is known as serial kisser of the industry but in the trailer of film it is evident that he has no kissing scenes in this film but his co-star Ajay Devgn has so when asked about reason behind it, Emraan on lighter note said, “I am not doing in this film. I have taken off from it in this film, someone other working hard on it. I have taken one year vacation from this thing but I feel having no kissing scene with Sunny (Leone) is also an achievement as we don’t have kissing scene but still our song is sizzling”.
