Ramanand Sagar’s son Prem sagar was upset with the movie Adipurus. During an interview he said that he had not watched the movie but saw its trailer and teaser. He laughed when pointed about ‘Tapori’ style in Ramayana dialogue ‘tel tere baap ka, jalegi tere baap ki’ which was said by Devdatta Nage, who played Lord Hanuman’s role.

He spoke about his father and said that when his father was making Ramayana, he understood the character of Lord Rama. He did only minor changes but never tried to change the facts.

He also commented on Saif Ali Khan as Ravana and said that Ravan was an intelligent person and it is not good to show him as a villain. He did all this because Ravana knew it that only Lord Rama could give salvation to him.

According to Prem Sagar it was also mentioned in scriptures that Lord Rama himself considered Ravana as a great scholar. When Ravana was about to die, Lord Rama sent his younger brother Lord Lakshmana to near him and said to gain some knowledge to him. “Such was the status of Ravana. You cannot project Ravana as dreaded villain in the name of creative liberty” he also added.

Prem also told that many writers wrote Ramayana but no one changed the content but in the Adipurush facts had changed.

When he asked about making a film or web series on Ramayana, he answered that his father said “No one will be able to make such a Ramayana for 85 years”.
