Anurag Kashyap opposes, Bhandarkar supports ban on ADHM release!

Mumbai: The two mainstream directors of Bollywood - Anurag Kashyap and Madhur Bhandarkar have entered into a verbal spat over the ban on release of Karan Johar's upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

While Kashyap has opposed the ban and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to serve an apology for his surprise visit to Pakistan, Bhandarkar, on the other hand, invalidated the former's demand.

Bhandarkar said that neither the government, nor PM Modi have imposed ban on films consisting of Pakistani artistes and hence, there is no point of making him a target.

Bhandarkar said, "Whatever Anurag Kashyap said is wrong, Neither BJP nor Govt issued any ban,it has become a trend to protest against Modiji."

Industry fraternity have bifurcated since the issue of banning Pakistani artistes in India have been raised by political outfits and the Cinema body citing the Uri Attack.

The controversy was fuelled after the Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) had on Saturday announced not to release the films starring Pakistani artistes in the four states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Goa.
